* This tutorial applies to only original Samsung phones.
An unknown Baseband is as a result of a corrupted EFS partition. The EFS holds the phone's IMEI and other radio information. To check the phone's Baseband, navigate to Settings > About > Baseband. Check the IMEI by dialing *#06#
You'll usually know you've been hit by the NULL IMEI / Unknown Baseband when you observe:
* Bluetooth address is unavailable
* WIFI connection will work inconsistent
* Constantly rebooting
* Fake IMEI or Null IMEI # (normally - 004999010640000)
* Null Serial number -(0000000)
* Unable to register to network
When you encounter an unknown Baseband and NULL IMEI, the first thing you need to fix is the unknown Baseband by flashing the Stock ROM / firmware for the exact phone model using Odin @ forum.hovatek.com/thread-519.html
Once that is done, you can then write an IMEI to the phone
Method 2: Xposed IMEI changer
* Download Xposed installer @ http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.a....installer and install it
* Launch the installer
* If you get "The latest version of Xposed is currently not active. Did you install the framework and Reboot" then follow the guide @ forum.hovatek.com/thread-7229.html to fix it
* Download Xposed IMEI Changer @ http://hovatek.com/redirect.php?link=htt...nger&hl=en and install it
* Launch the app
* Input your preferred IMEI and select Apply
* Reboot the phone

Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
